ALT. OSCAR 2012 Occupy Red Carpet February 26 NYC

Each year Kostume Kult takes time to recognize excellence in costuming and absurdity with the prestigious Alt. Oscar awards. What's different this year is the red carpet will be rolled out and then Occupied at Tammany Hall on Sunday February 26th 2012. Formal fashionistas, movie inspired costumes, protesters of causes real or imagined will be greeted by a host of paparazzi and fans for a night to remember. The party is upstairs and there is dedicated Hollywood Oscar viewing in the quiet room downstairs.

*** NOTE*** No boring political statement's are intended in the making of this farce. This is a red-carpeted stage where fun shall be made... At your discretion.

For Best Celebrities, Best Costumes (from a recent film), Fight the Power! (funniest statements) and Lifetime Achievement (real or imagined)... ALTY JUNIORS for feats of brilliance and absurdity.


As a veteran of the Alt. Oscars I can tell you it was a terrifically fun evening with the charming MC Chris keeping the evening moving right along with awards and dancing in-between. Some of the costume highlights of last years Alt. Oscars were flocks of Black Swans, Tron, Pixar characters, Despicable Me and myself as the 2010 epic film Piranha 3D.
